BC Webinar – Do you see Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) as a difficult and complicated mystery black box? Unfortunately, many SEO providers present SEO this way. This is why we started offering SEO Basics and SEO Beyond the Basics Training workshops. Jane managed to dominate the front page of Google with super simple strategies for her resume writing business – to the point she had to take the website down! Learn how she did this, and how her clients and sites we’ve found have used these evolved strategies (SEO is always changing) more recently with great results.

SEO is a set of web best practice techniques that allows the information you publish on your website to be discovered and understood. It is then ranked against similar websites on search engines like Google. In the SEO Basics workshop you learnt that SEO does not have to be a mystery. You learnt simple SEO techniques to employ yourself, as well as some simple tools to monitor SEO progress. An understanding of the fundamentals set you up for future learning in this area, as well as to help you when outsourcing this work. Now in the SEO – Beyond the Basics workshop we cover additional techniques, both within your website and externally, that will help boost your search engine ranking. This means more people will see your business and your website.
This workshop carries on from SEO Basics, and therefore we’ll open with some shared homework review. How did people go undertaking keyword research, installing/monitoring Google Analytics and Google Search Console and initial impact from any changes implemented? This can be inspiring and provide surprise findings! Then we crossover into SEO Beyond the Basics, which goes into some more technical website focused SEO and also User Experience (UX). In some cases we will show you how to identify issues which may require web developer assistance, but for the most part this will still be DIY SEO.
It is expected at this SEO Beyond the Basics session you will have attended the SEO Basics session (the one before this session is on 2nd Feb 2022 – book separately), or have sound basic knowledge of search engines, SERPs, and keywords. This is the one time where if you ask what is SEO you will not receive a nice reply (unbelievably this has happened before!) DO NOT ATTEND THIS SESSION IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT SEO STANDS FOR! I think we have been crystal clear this is not the beginners class. We ask you to respect this, not for us. It’s so that people who are at the session for the right reason to learn more, can actually learn more! Rant over, let’s resume nice normal programming!
During the first session you learned some basic SEO techniques including a breakdown of the Google Search Engine Results Page (SERP) results, keyword research you can conduct yourself, and some simple tools you can utilise to monitor SEO progress. We covered the top ten ways to appear on Google’s front page. If you have not attended our Basics session then we’d expect this sort of subject matter to be within your understanding.
